The Munich business lawyer Marc is not happy: Instead of going to New York as planned, he has to travel to the province of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania at short notice to represent his sick grandfather as a pub owner for four weeks. The lawyer juggles millions of dollars every day - it should be easy for him to get grandpa's ailing tavern going with Western know-how. But the down-to-earth Ossis are not in the mood for tapas and Thai food. Marc only realizes this when he gets to know and love the young, single parent Carmen. When Marc's fiancée Lisa shows up, decisions are pending.

R. I. S. – Die Sprache der Toten is a German television series broadcast by Sat.1 since 2007. The R. I. S. in the title is an acronym for Rechtsmedizinische Investigative Sonderkommission, referring to the fictional police investigation unit that is the focus of the series. The series, a crime drama, is a remake of an Italian television series entitled RIS Delitti Imperfetti.The first season ended on 10 June 2007. The second and final season with another 13 episodes began airing 15 November 2007.

During this phase, however, she gets into conflict with her own father’s political interests, him being the leader of the conservative party.When finding out about some deceptive business practice with mayor-in-office Degenhardt, she feels urged to start on a journey back into her own past to find out truth. Alex, a journalist and good friend of hers from youth times, supports her in her confrontation with her past and her father’s criminal offences.
